Many were getting tired of stale meta builds, and now there are some newly buffed skills to play around with. I think this patch comes at a perfect time. No, you aren’t going to hit 100 in five hours, but it’s going to make leveling much faster again, encouraging seasonal character play for those who may have been skeptical (like myself). In Diablo 4, it’s way, way longer, at least before these changes. There already should be some amount of boosts within the season itself to help this, but in Diablo 3, it took a half dozen hours or so to hit the level cap in those games to start farming endgame things during seasons. This XP boost serves two purposes:ġ) It allows players to take Eternal realm characters to higher levels or max them much faster than before, and if those characters are “finished,” players are more likely to be open to starting a seasonal character.Ģ) For seasons itself, it will speed up the leveling process significantly. I think this is directly linked to Blizzard trying to get people to engage with upcoming seasons where you have to start new characters from scratch. I have a theory as to why Blizzard did this, and it’s not just because people were complaining about higher levels being a slog.
